The Creation of Public Discourse: A Blueprint for Reconciling Left and Right

A text exploring how the public discourse is created by the interaction of the left and right. An emphasis is given to examining how the utility of the public discourse can be maximized by following rules devoted to cooperation rather than defection against other players in the game of public discourse. A model is developed and used from game theory and psychology to explore the public discourse and explain why left and right often do not see eye to eye, and how those differences can be negotiated to still produce much-needed compromises on the political issues of our day.
